The Alaietidal Organization for Dialogue, Peacebuilding, Development and Combating Extremism held a training workshop from September 8 to 11, 2023, in the city of Damazin, the capital of the Blue Nile Region, on promoting harmony and tolerance by combating hate speech, with broad participation from media figures, jurists, civil administration leaders, and social media activists.
When addressing the opening session, Mr. Nasr al-Din Mufreh called for the necessity of tolerance and acceptance of the other. He said that the workshop aims to promote harmony, spread a culture of peace, and reject hate speech, pointing out the role that the organization plays with regard to the accompanying programs through platforms, seminars, and community dialogues, while he praised Al-Mak al-Fatih, the general supervisor of the Blue Nile tribes. The participation of the symbols of the civil administration in the workshop was described as a real addition, especially since they are the owners of community initiatives. He praised the organization’s role in achieving security and stability, calling on the scholars for the workshop to come out with recommendations and outcomes that benefit the people of the Blue Nile Region.
